Abstract
This research paper provides a sociolinguistic analysis of a group of English language learners at a private learning center in Tashkent, in Uzbekistan. It sheds light on proficiency level of students, their background and inspirations. The paper depicts socio-economic, cultural, and linguistic variations within the classroom as well the role of English in this process.
