This article presents the results of scientific research aimed at developing a technology for producing raw silk of low linear density from cocoons of local silkworm breeds using modern cocoon reeling machines. Within the framework of the study, the linear density of cocoon filaments and the technological indicators of live and dried cocoons were investigated by reeling cocoon filaments in a single operation on the laboratory single-end reeling machine of the Uzbek Scientific Research
Institute of Sericulture (UzSRIS). Based on the results of cocoon analysis, the number of cocoons was determined; silkworm breeds and hybrids with large cocoon size and high silk yield were selected, and specific recommendations were developed for the reproduction of industrial seeds, production of silk wadding, and specialization of cocoon cultivation in sericulture cluster areas, along with the implementation of the technology.
