The article considers the issue of ensuring the stability of the preparatory mine seams and improving the reinforcement parameters based on geomechanical criteria on the example of the Kairagoch mine. The stability of preparatory seams in underground mining operations ensures the continuity of the mining process, transportation, ventilation and safety. Redistribution of mine pressure around seams, cracking, liquefaction, tectonic faults and an incorrectly selected reinforcement system can lead to rock displacement and contour deformation of the roof. Instead of providing artificial calculation results in conditions where accurate production parameters are insufficient, a methodological approach has been developed in this article. The approach includes the stages of assessing the rock mass based on RMR, GSI and Q-system, dividing the risk categories, selecting the type of reinforcement and re-evaluating based on monitoring results. The proposed methodology can be used as a practical calculation model when supplemented with real laboratory and geodetic observation data.
