Abstract

This article is devoted to the analysis of homonymous relations between furniture names and other words in English and Uzbek. Homonymy occupies an important place in the lexicological section of linguistics, studying words that have the same pronunciation and spelling, but completely different meanings. The article examines in detail the homonymous relations of furniture names (for example, English "table", "chair", Uzbek "stol", "kursi") with words from other semantic fields with examples. Through comparative analysis, similarities and differences between languages, as well as the influence of cultural and historical factors, are identified. The study discusses the types of homonyms (full homonyms, partial homonyms, homophones, homographs) and their manifestation in the furniture lexicon. The results can be used in linguistics, translation theory and lexicography. The article is based on literature on Uzbek and English linguistics, as well as scientific articles.
