Abstract

This article discusses the theoretical foundations and practical applications of lexicology and terminology. Lexicology, as a branch of linguistics, studies the structure, meaning, and origin of words, while terminology focuses on the creation, use, and systematization of special terms in specific fields of knowledge. The study emphasizes the important role of terms in ensuring clarity and clarity in scientific communication. Various methods of term formation, such as affixation, compound word formation, abbreviation, and borrowing from other languages, are analyzed. The article also highlights the importance of preserving linguistic identity in the development of terminological systems in the native language, in particular, in the case of the Uzbek language.
