Abstract

This study investigated the yield, resistance to Meloidogyne incognita (root-knot nematode), and breeding potential of first-generation (F1) tomato hybrids. Experiments were conducted under greenhouse and open-field conditions. The results demonstrated significant differences among the hybrids in terms of yield, root damage index, vegetative and generative growth characteristics. Some F1 samples showed high yield, minimal root galling, and rapid recovery capacity. Based on the findings, recommendations were made to select promising F1 hybrids for breeding programs.
