THE ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY IN MODERN LANGUAGE LEARNING METHODOLOGY

Abstract
The swift advancement of digital technologies has significantly altered methods of language acquisition and instruction. Conventional methods that predominantly depended on textbooks and in-person teaching are progressively supplemented, and in certain instances supplanted, by digital platforms, mobile applications, virtual classrooms, and artificial intelligence tools. The incorporation of technology has rendered language learning more interactive, learner-focused, and accessible to broader demographics across various contexts. Furthermore, digital resources and adaptive learning systems provide tailored education that accommodates diverse competence levels and learning styles. Notwithstanding these benefits, obstacles persist in guaranteeing equitable access, preserving the human aspect of language learning, and cultivating sufficient digital literacy competencies among students and educators. This article analyses the educational importance of technology in contemporary language learning methods, emphasising both advantages and drawbacks. The research highlights the significance of technology in promoting engagement, autonomy, and collaborative learning, while also addressing the ramifications for teacher training and curriculum development in higher education.
