IMPROVING THE EFFICIENCY OF USING ELECTRONIC DATABASES IN THE RESTORATION, DESIGN, AND PRESERVATION OF HISTORICAL MONUMENTS

Abstract

This article explores the application of modern digital technologies in the documentation, modeling, and preservation of architectural monuments located in the Ichan-Kala complex of Khiva. It details the process of collecting comprehensive information, including historical data, photographs, and videos, followed by the development of precise three-dimensional (3D) models using professional software such as AutoCAD and 3ds Max.

The study also discusses the integration of these materials into a specially created website, forming an electronic database that facilitates the restoration, reconstruction, and conservation of heritage sites. By employing such technologies, the restoration process becomes significantly more efficient—allowing for accurate visualization, quicker decision-making, and time-saving benefits.

Furthermore, the article emphasizes the broader implications of this digital approach, including its potential to support tourism, education, and cultural heritage awareness. The use of virtual reality (VR) technologies enhances public access and engagement, while simultaneously providing experts with valuable tools for long-term preservation planning. Ultimately, the research highlights the importance of adopting innovative, technology-based strategies in the conservation of Uzbekistan’s rich architectural legacy
