Abstract
The article describes the method of determining the value of the vertical load applied to the bobbin during softening of the cotton between cotton rows to the required level. In this of the tractor Theoretical studies have shown that in order for a roller to sink to a specified depth at a speed of 1.7–2.2 m/s, the vertical load applied to it should be in the range of 949–954 N.
