Blended Learning Approaches in Language Teaching: Opportunities and Constraints

Abstract
Blended learning has emerged as a transformative approach in language education, combining face-to-face instruction with online components to enhance learner engagement, autonomy, and language proficiency. This article examines the pedagogical opportunities and constraints of blended learning in second and foreign language instruction. Drawing on recent empirical research and case studies, the paper explores various models of blended learning, their impact on skill development, learner motivation, and teacher roles. Furthermore, it highlights the technological, logistical, and pedagogical challenges that educators face in implementing blended frameworks. The findings suggest that while blended learning offers significant advantages in promoting flexible, student-centered environments, its effectiveness depends on thoughtful integration of content, technology, and interaction strategies
