Abstract

This article explores the strategic modernization of the energy sector within the framework of
a green economy, focusing on the multifaceted challenges and potential solutions that can ensure
ecological and economic sustainability. As the global shift toward renewable energy intensifies,
countries like Uzbekistan are facing urgent pressures to transition from carbon-intensive systems to
greener, more efficient technologies. This paper identifies critical obstacles—including outdated
infrastructure, investment gaps, and regulatory shortcomings—that hinder green transformation in
the energy sector. It also analyzes successful models from international experiences that offer
applicable insights for developing economies. The research employs a mixed-methods approach,
integrating quantitative data analysis with expert evaluations, to examine the interplay between
renewable energy adoption, policy frameworks, and technological advancement. Results demonstrate
that strategic policy reform, technological innovation, and financial incentivization are key pillars in
achieving long-term sustainability in energy production. Ultimately, the article advocates for asystematic, multi-sectoral modernization strategy supported by data-driven planning and international
cooperation, aligning national energy agendas with the overarching goals of the green economy
