Abstract

Inclusive higher education has become a global priority, reflecting a commitment to equity, diversity, and social justice. This paper examines the challenges and opportunities in ensuring equal access to and completion of higher education for students in need of additional support, such as those with disabilities, socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and minority groups. Drawing on the principles of the "Learning Together" approach—originating from pre-university contexts—this paper explores its potential adaptation to higher education. The study advocates for institutional transformation through inclusive policies, support services, and capacity-building strategies. It concludes with evidence-based recommendations for embedding inclusive practices across universities to support vulnerable students throughout their academic journey.
