Abstract

This article discusses the treatment methods and potential complications of pericarditis, an inflammatory condition affecting the pericardium, the sac surrounding the heart. It provides an overview of both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches used in managing pericarditis, including anti-inflammatory medications, colchicine, and in some cases, surgical interventions. The article also highlights possible complications such as cardiac tamponade, constrictive pericarditis, and recurrent episodes, emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis and appropriate treatment to improve patient outcomes.
