Abstract

Falls from height are a leading cause of trauma, particularly leading to vertebral fractures. This article reviews the mechanisms through which falls from height result in vertebral fractures, emphasizing the biomechanical and physiological factors that influence the severity and type of fractures sustained. We explore the clinical implications of these injuries, including diagnostic approaches, treatment options, and long-term management strategies. Additionally, current advancements in imaging techniques, surgical interventions, and rehabilitation practices are reviewed. This review aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing vertebral fractures due to falls from height, which will inform clinical decision-making for trauma care.
