Abstract

This article explores how social media influences the mental health of young people, highlighting both its benefits and risks. While social media serves as a powerful tool for learning, communication, and self-expression, its excessive and unregulated use can contribute to mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, and decreased self-esteem. Understanding these effects is crucial for young users, parents, and educators to develop strategies that promote a balanced digital lifestyle. By fostering healthy online habits, we can ensure that social media remains a tool for empowerment rather than a source of psychological distress.
