Abstract

This article discusses the linguistic and cultural challenges faced in translating English idioms into Uzbek. It highlights the importance of cultural context, semantic equivalence, and metaphorical meaning in achieving accurate translation. The study analyzes how differences in worldview, values, and linguistic imagery affect idiomatic transfer between English and Uzbek. It also suggests strategies that translators can employ to preserve both semantic and cultural nuances, thus ensuring more effective intercultural communication.
