Abstract
In recent years, distance learning has emerged as a critical method of education, facilitated largely by advancements in Information Technology (IT). IT plays a pivotal role in creating and enhancing the learning experience by providing various digital platforms, tools, and resources that bridge geographical barriers. This article explores the importance of information technology in distance learning, focusing on its ability to provide flexible, accessible, and engaging educational opportunities. The integration of IT tools such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), video conferencing, and digital collaboration platforms has transformed traditional learning methods, making education more inclusive and adaptable. Furthermore, IT has enabled a more personalized learning experience through data analytics and artificial intelligence, supporting diverse learner needs. Despite challenges like digital divide and technological infrastructure limitations, the role of IT in distance learning continues to grow, shaping the future of education globally.
