TURKISTON XALQINING MA'NAVIY TARAQQIYOTIDA MAXMUDXO'JA BEHBUDIYNING HISSASI

This article explores the life and work of Mahmudkhoja Behbudi. Living through a complex period in Turkestan's history, Behbudi emerged as one of the leading figures of the Jadid movement. From a young age, he stood out for his thirst for knowledge and sharp intellect. Initially receiving religious education from his father, Behbudi later pursued studies in the madrasas of Bukhara, eventually attaining the rank of mufti. His worldview expanded through the influence of Ismail Gasprinski and his pilgrimage journey, which inspired him to establish Jadid schools. Dedicated to educational reform, Behbudi developed a modernized schooling system and created contemporary textbooks for the youth of Turkestan. This article provides an in-depth analysis of his role in the Jadid movement, his contributions to education, and his impact on the nation’s progress.
